We have just secured two tickets for to see the amazing John Bishop, stand up comedian from the tele!! They are for his next tour in October at the Sheffield Motorpoint Arena. These will be auctioned to the highest bidder at the Let’s Rock Cancer Winter Ball’s charity auction on the 28th January.
This adds to the long list of amazing auction items and raffle prizes which have kindly been donated for the Winter Ball. To have a sneak peak at the latest list, click on the Winter Ball page and there is the full list.

In other news, we will very soon be announcing our first two gigs of 2012, and are hard working on the rest of the year too. We have lots of great plans for you this year, so keep checking back.

We hope that everyone has had a nice Christmas and are looking forward to the New Year and what it may bring. Let’s Rock Cancer would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has helped Let’s Rock Cancer in 2011, it’s been an amazing year and we hope to only improve in 2012. Some highlights of 2011 include our first ever Winter Ball, perhaps our most interesting Battle of the Bands to date, touring bands from America, the chance to host the Rock n Roll Circus tour on two separate occasions in both Scunthorpe and Manchester and the recording of our first ever promotional video.
We look forward to celebrating all these achievements at our annual Winter Ball and the first event in 2012 on the 28th January at the Wortley House Hotel in Scunthorpe. There is still time to get your tickets for what promises to be a spectacular event with live music from Missed You At The Show and Lizzie Goddard, as well as a three course meal, charity auction and raffle and the premiere of our new promotional video. Looking forward to 2012, we already have some great stuff planned for you guys. In February and March we will be bringing in great live acts from outside the area and putting them alongside your favourite local acts at our monthly shows at the Lincoln Imp in Scunthorpe. More information coming very shortly, including information on how you can get into our shows for cheaper! In addition to this we are organising something big this Summer with Brigg Music Club, Brigg will not know what has hit it! As well as this we will be celebrating five years of Let’s Rock Cancer, and our fifth annual Battle of the Bands competition which will be expanding to include more venues in the area. Finally we would like to welcome a fifth charity to our roster, we are hoping to organise something special later in the year to raise money for the Prostate Cancer Charity, a charity which has sadly come close to our attentions recently. More information on this later in the year.

Thanks to everyone who came down to the Lincoln Imp on Saturday to see the boys of 3 Hour Week deliver an astounding set, with great support from Mat & Me, Sheriff Lonestar and the Deputies of Heartbreak, Chasing Wilson and Ryan Fuke. We managed to raise an amazing £183.10 towards 2011′s fund total to be delivered at the Winter Ball in January. We are proud to present the amazing indie/pop band 3 Hour Week from Scunthorpe will be headlining for us this Saturday 19th November at the Lincoln Imp in Scunthorpe. These guys came third in our Battle of the Bands competition in 2010 and have come far to become one of Scunthorpe’s most popular bands regularly playing shows in far off places such as Sheffield, Lincoln and even London.
They will be supported by the hilarious and popular ‘Mat & Me’ from Brigg, who’s music is difficult to define into a genre, but be guaranteed they are awesome!! Also supporting are Sheriff Lonestar and the Deputies of Heartbreak straight from the Oil Trough of the USA, Chasing Wilson from Gainsborough playing their first ever gig, and the stunningly brilliant Ryan Fuke who made his debut at the Battle of the Bands earlier last month.
We hope to see you all there, starting 7:30pm with Ryan Fuke, live at the Lincoln Imp in Scunthorpe. £4 entry on the door, as usual all the profits will go to charity. More information on December’s show on the 3rd in the next day!
Missed You At The Show, winners of Let’s Rock Cancer Battle of the Bands 2011, are releasing their new single, ‘Human’ very soon! On Saturday 26th November, the boys have their single launch party at The Roadhouse in Manchester!

The ball is on the 28th January at the Wortley House Hotel in Scunthorpe beginning at 7:00pm. Tickets are £25 and are available by following the link on your right to the Winter Ball page or click here where you can download the form you need to post, or alternatively give us a call.

Welcome to the official website for Let's Rock Cancer, we are a charitable, voluntary and youth led organisation set up in 2007 to raise money and awareness for cancer charities and organisations through the organisation of music events; whilst also promoting local and unsigned music. The organisation was created in response to the two founding members, Brant and Danielle Clayton, wanting to do something to give back to the organisations and charities which helped their mother, Sally Clayton, through her treatment for cancer. Unfortuantely Sally later died in 2008, however the organisation lives on in her memory.
Since the organisation began in 2007, it has hosted many successful music events in the North Lincolnshire area with local and touring bands, including the annual Battle of the Bands; as well as its first show with signed act the Holloways in Sheffield in February 2010. Recently we have begun organising our first Winter Ball for January 2011, this will be a platform to publically present the money we have raised to the organisations and charities and as an extra boost to raise funds; we hope this can be repeated on a yearly basis.
As of September 2010, we have begun to move the organisation into other areas. Whilst still retaining our base in Scunthorpe and North Lincolnshire, we have begun music events in Manchester, as well as being in the process of sourcing suitable venues in Lincoln and Sheffield.
